Watch out for what you may find elsewhere
Remember, There is only one Warmer Room and much like our industry leading Warmer Roof, many have tried to copy and replicate so be cautious and know exactly what you’re buying! Less insulation, smaller components and supports are just among the things which may contribute to a better price on paper but in terms of value for money, the difference is miles. The inferior quality of products can lead to dangers in structural integrity, leaks, mould and many more issues! The Warmer Room is the most complete garden room on the market.
This is why we offer a PRICE MATCH on all like for like garden buildings!* Because we know that nothing else is like it on the market at the Trade Price we can offer!
*Needs to be a formal quotation with full specification list and price. Trade Price will match on a like for like building within the same quality parameters but will not be held to this guarantee if the alternative garden building differs in any way.*

The Added Value of Garden Rooms
It’s becoming substantially difficult to hop onto the property ladder. In fact, most young adults stay with their parents well into their mid-to-late twenties. Statisticians attribute this to a marginal 1% annual rise in house prices. However, there are also difficulties facing homeowners moving up the property ladder too.
A recent study showed that 60% of participants claimed moving up the ladder was harder than getting onto the ladder. Many found themselves struggling to even sell their first property. The market post-Brexit has contributed to this uncertainty. It has even seen some shun moving at all – prompting a shortage of available homes. Why? It’s simple. Why move when you can expand and increase the value of your current property?
Property developers investigate the site’s potential and whether there’s room for improvement. Often, they check to see if extensions are viable. As Trade Price learnt with our adjacent venture, conservatories are top of their considerations. However, garden rooms should become increasingly prevalent too. It is highly likely that homeowners will seek this new value increasing tactic too.
With that said, there are many variables that can reduce a property’s value. If the height of your garden room exceeds 2.5 metres, you would need to seek planning permission. Garden rooms are space dependent too. So it would be wise not to take up more than 50% of your gardens space, as this would decrease your property. If you were to ignore this, then you would likely have to tear down your newly built garden room. The type of property you settle on should depend on whether you can improve it or even make any additions at all. The location of your property is also a key factor. Will future buyers be interested in the home improvements you’ve made? It might be wise to ask a local estate agent for their advice.
There is no hard and fast rule that improving your property will improve its value. Yet, cheaper extensions or add-ons – such as a garden room – will reward you in the long run. Expensive jobs, such as loft conversions, may seem appealing to buyers but will come with a catch. Buyers are often unwilling to pay the premium for the effort and expense undertaken. Plus, it’s worth remembering that very little development projects come in under budget. Especially in the long run!

Most DIY garden rooms needn’t require planning permission. However, they should meet the following requirements. If they don’t, you should double-check government guidelines.
- The external height of the garden room mustn’t exceed 2.5 meters. This would be measured from the bottom of the building to the top of the roof
- The garden room mustn’t take up more than 50% of your garden
- It must not be used as self-contained living accommodation or feature an antenna
- Outbuildings should not be closer to a road or public highway than the homeowner’s property itself. They should also not be situated less than 2.0m from a property boundary
- A garden room with an internal size bigger than 30m2 would need to seek planning permission
- There are increased rules around listed buildings, so any garden building or outbuilding that is to be placed within the curtilage of a listed property will require planning permission.
